2 Regional Emmy® Awards · Suncoast Chapter · 2025
My documentary won two Emmys to prove one thing: we know local.
At Outbound, we made HUNKS vs. The Hurricanes, a documentary with two jobs: tell a story Tampa needed to hear, and make us the obvious leader in marketing for local businesses.
- The goal
- We did marketing and advertising for local service businesses, and we needed a way to stand out in a crowded agency market.
- The story
- When back-to-back hurricanes hit Tampa, local teams like College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving stepped up, clearing debris, delivering supplies, and helping people rebuild. It started with a single call from Mayor Jane Castor and became a citywide movement.
- The play
- We skipped the national awards and went after the Regional Emmys on purpose. For local media they’re the highest honor there is, and the right trophy for a team that serves local businesses.
- The result
- Four nominations and two Emmy® Awards for the film. Now when a local business owner asks why us, the answer is simple: we know local marketing.

Guinness World Records™ Title Holder · 2020
I set a world record so we could say we make paperwork fly.
At Script, our workflow automation helped schools get paperwork done faster, and we wanted a claim no competitor could match.
- The goal
- Turn “we save you time on paperwork” into something people would remember and repeat.
- The play
- Make it literal. Our team of eight went after the Guinness World Record for most paper aircraft made and caught in one minute.
- The result
- 23 paper airplanes folded, flown, and caught in 60 seconds. A Guinness World Record, and officially the fastest team at making paperwork fly. Every customer, investor, and reporter wanted to hear about it.

The Marketing Cannon · Personalized Video at Scale
I put every prospect’s name on my whiteboard.
At Script, cold emails were getting ignored. So I made one that felt like I’d recorded it just for you.
- On camera
- Motion tracking
- Automation
- Email outreach
- Lead scoring
- The build
- I filmed myself waving while holding a whiteboard, motion-tracked the board in After Effects, and automated it so each prospect’s name appeared on it. That became a GIF placed right in the email.
- The hook
- Prospects opened their inbox to see me waving with their name in my hands. We also copied their director on the email, and a little peer pressure got it opened. The GIF pulled them into the full video, and the video pulled them into a demo.
- The result
- 40%+ open rates and a shorter sales cycle. We lead-scored by watch time and went after the most engaged prospects first.
- 40%+Email open rates
- 1:1Personalized video, at scale
- FasterSales cycle
Relationship Marketing · National Podcast
I couldn’t get past the gatekeeper, so I gave superintendents a microphone.
At Script, I needed to get in front of school superintendents. They’re nearly impossible to reach and a cold pitch goes nowhere, so I needed a way in that felt warm from the first conversation.

- Cold outreach
- The problem
- We sold workflow automation built for K-12. Gatekeepers kept me from reaching superintendents, and when I did get through, the conversation was cold and transactional.
- The insight
- K-12 runs on community. People stay in the field for decades and everyone knows each other. Superintendents want their peers to see them as innovators and leaders.
- The play
- I gave them what they wanted. I launched Innovate and Educate, a national podcast sponsored by Script, and invited superintendents on as guests to talk about the innovation in their districts.
- The result
- They said yes. Each interview started a real relationship, and they always took my call after that. They also shared their episodes with their networks, which worked like a warm intro to other districts.
- NationalPodcast for K-12 leaders
- WarmIntros to other districts

Amazon Best-Selling Children’s Book · Relationship Building
A business card gets thrown away. A bedtime story gets read again and again.
I wrote C is for CEO for my daughters, to answer their questions about what I do at work. Then I noticed something: the successful people I wanted to meet had little kids too.
- Why I wrote it
- I wanted something to read with my little girls that explained what I do for work, and opened up conversations about dreams, goals, and what success means for our family.
- The insight
- The leaders I wanted to build relationships with were parents of young kids, with the same challenge I had: explaining what they do all day to a little one.
- The play
- So I gave them the book to read with their own kids, as a gift for their family and a way to tell their kids what they do for work too.
- The result
- That book got me into the conference rooms of publicly traded companies and started relationships with leaders across the country. It opened doors a cold email never could.
